Aurélia Chevalier, fine art restorer-conservator, offers conservation and restoration services for works of art to public institutions, art market professionals and private collectors, in Switzerland and internationally.

Its work covers all aspects of preserving ancient, modern, and contemporary paintings, from direct intervention on the artworks to providing technical and scientific support for collections. Services are carried out in the studio or on-site, depending on the nature of the artworks and the conservation requirements.

Interventions
conservation
& restoration

Restoration

Restoration interventions for paintings relating to the support and the paint layer, for ancient, modern and contemporary works, including all types of interventions necessary for the stabilization and legibility of the work.

De-restoration

De-restoration operations aimed at restoring the material integrity of the work, by eliminating past invasive or inappropriate restorations.

Preventive conservation

Advice on the conservation of works of art, relating to the climatic environment, exposure, lighting, conditioning, packaging and storage, in order to limit the risks of degradation.

Condition Reports and Assessments

Preparation of condition reports to document the physical condition of works of art in various contexts, including loans, purchases, sales, transport, storage, and collection assessments. These reports serve as a reference for monitoring artworks and may include, as needed, identification procedures carried out in collaboration with specialized laboratories.

Collection monitoring, transport supervision and maintenance

Aurélia Chevalier oversees and maintains private collections, as well as the transport of artworks, ensuring compliance with conservation, transport, and security requirements, especially in collaboration with FineArt Advice.  This support is part of an ongoing preservation approach tailored to the needs of collectors and institutions.

Preparation of the works
for exhibitions

Aurélia Chevalier is responsible for preparing works of art for exhibitions, working closely with institutions, museums and galleries.
She has notably been involved in exhibitions dedicated to Simon Hantaï (Gagosian, Fondation Louis Vuitton), Jean Dubuffet – Coucou Bazar (Musée des Arts décoratifs, Fondation Beyeler), as well as in the preparation of works from the collections of DABCO, the ninth department of the Louvre Museum.

She also assisted in the preparation of works by Nicolas de Staël for the retrospective at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, by Roger-Edgar Gillet at the Musée Estrine, and by Shirley Jaffe for exhibitions at the Galerie Obadia and the Kunstmuseum Basel.
